How To Satiate Your Thirst For Adventure

If you have an immense thirst for adventure, it can often be tough to simply sit around your house all the time - going to work each day, going to the grocery store, and doing all the other things that are part of “normal life” but are not part of adventure! For those people who feel a constant longing for adventure, it is important that this desire be fulfilled, and by going about it the right way, this desire can be fulfilled without having to quit that job and leave the grocery store behind forever!

No matter how strong your thirst for adventure is, the key to satisfying this thirst is taking periodic adventures, as these “breaks” from everyday life are often the exact elixir adventurers need to have their sanity restored.

When it comes to planning these miniature adventures, the first thing you need to realize is that you probably have two weeks of vacation days each year, and you should plan to use them wisely. Not only do you have all these vacation days, but you also have at least five 3-day weekends each year (Presidents Day Weekend, Easter Weekend, Memorial Day Weekend, Labor Day Weekend, and Thanksgiving Weekend), and you get even more such weekends on years when New Year’s and Christmas fall in such a way that you get an extra day off; when you combine these lengthy weekends with the vacation days in your pocket, you have 15 or more opportunities throughout the year for lengthy weekends!

If adventure runs thick in your blood, consider creating as many lengthy weekends as possible, and during these weekends, take trips that allow you to fulfill this desire you have to “get out there and do something.” And as you “get out there and do something” – making sure you vary exactly what it is you are “doing” each of these lengthy weekends – you will find that you feel much more satisfied with your weeks than you ever did before!

If you have been thinking about starting up your own saltwater tank, you may have saved up the money for all the equipment you need, and you may have finally gone out and purchased all this stuff – which, of course, leaves you excited to set up the tank and start adding fish at last!

Before you do start adding fish, however, you will need to make sure you know all the things necessary to set up your tank so that it is ready to go!

Before you do anything at all (even if your tank is brand new!), there are two things you will need to do with your tank. Firstly, you need to check your tank for leaks, and secondly, you need to clean your tank.

Checking your tank for leaks is as easy as filling it up to the brim and letting it sit for an hour or two, making sure no water leaks out. As for the steps to take for cleaning your tank, you will want to use about a teaspoon of bleach for every five gallons of water, and you will want to give everything a thorough scrubbing.

And of course, before you add any saltwater to the tank, you will want to rinse out the tank several times to get rid of any bleach that might be hanging around!

Once you add the sand, the plants, and the rocks, you can prepare your saltwater and add it to the tank, along with the filter, the heater, and anything else you plan to add.

The big mistake many people make at this point is deciding their fish tank is all set to go – after which they go out and purchase some fish! Before you do this, however, you need to let your tank run continually for a minimum of 72 hours (three days) to make sure that everything in the tank is running perfectly, and that everything with the water is balanced out perfectly.

You will be ready to start enjoying your tank and adding fish – one fish at a time – once you have done all these things!
