Stress headaches can be a real problem to get rid of and almost become chronic if it is actually being caused by referred pain from your neck, shoulder, and jaw muscles. It might be time to consider some other options if you suffer from daily headaches. Here are a number of things you can try to get them under control. One of the best ways is to get a massage.
Massages are great ways to relieve tight muscles. When we are stressed we tend to raise our shoulders up to our ears and slouch when we sit. These things can cause armoring, the rounding of your back. Massage therapists can help relax the muscles allowing the referred pain to relieve. It may take a few visits to the therapist first, and can be helped along by doing stretching exercies at home. BioFreeze, can also be used to help reduce swelling and pain from inflamed muscles. Very similar to icy hot, however it doesn’t get the warm sensation. A number of people find this product to have a aggravating feeling, so make sure to try it out first on a small patch of skin. Your therapist may also recommend switching between hot and cold packs to help relieve tension and built up toxins in your shoulders. A great way to get this is to purchase three different Gel packs that can be used in a hot or cold setting. One can be used for hot, and the other two as cold. You may find that either the hot or cold packs work better for you. Discuss this with yoru massage therapist to help to determine the best treatment plan.Tagged with: General
