Is The GoPro The Best Sports Camera?

On the GoPro website, they claim to be the world’s best selling wearable HD camera for sports, but the question is, are they also the best? Of course, we must first make sure we understand exactly what the GoPro aims to be before we can answer this question.

The GoPro  is an HD video camera, but it is also much more than that; it is an HD video camera designed to be used while doing things such as hiking, skiing, surfing, skydiving, and everything in between.

The GoPro cameras come with special mounts that are intended to be used for different activities; for instance, there is a helmet mount for bicycle sports, and there is a special mount for skiing, in case you want to strap the GoPro onto one of your poles. The GoPro even has a special camera and mount designed for motor sports, if – for instance – you wanted to strap a GoPro to the front of a race car.

Before the GoPro can be compared to other comparable products, there are two questions that must first be answered about the GoPro. The first question is whether the GoPro is sturdy enough to handle the brutal stuff it is designed for; the second question is whether it actually takes good video.

Considering its small size, the GoPro is an amazingly sturdy device; skiers have found that they can take big spills without hurting the camera, and surfers even find that the waterproof case truly is waterproof! As for answering the question of whether the GoPro truly takes HD quality video, there is no answer to this question besides a resounding “Yes.”

And as the GoPro truly does what it claims to do – taking incredible footage with a small, sturdy design – the question of whether it is the best option becomes much easier to answer. The answer to the question, quite frankly, is that it is not even close; the main competition for the GoPro is the clunkier CountourHD and the clunkier and more expensive Drift HD170, each of which fall short of the GoPro design. And what’s more, neither of the GoPro’s main competitors offer as many accessories or take video with clarity to match the GoPro; truly, the GoPro is in a class of its own!

Just about anybody can use a camera, as it takes nothing more to operate a camera than “point and click.” But assuming that “pointing and clicking” is the only thing you need to know in order to take good pictures is as silly as someone assuming that they only need an item to sell in order to run a successful business! There are many things for which your business might need pictures – such as print ads, billboards, your website, business cards, and more – and for any of these needs, you will always be wise to hire a professional photographer.

It can be tricky to choose a professional photographer to hire, especially because you will want to find someone good who does not cost a fortune. One important thing to do, in order to make sure you are spending your money well, is to hire someone who has worked successfully with other businesses. After all, every photographer is good at different things, and while you might hire a spectacular photographer, it is no good for you if they cannot take the pictures you need. By simply asking around, you will be able to find a photographer who is not only good, but who is good at what you need. Pay attention when you look at print ads and billboards for other local businesses; when something catches your eye, remember it. If you call and ask most businesses who they used for pictures in a particular ad, most of them will be more than happy to help.

Another important thing to do is to make sure you have a solid idea of what you want to do with the pictures. After all, you can hire the best photographer in the world, but if their idea of how the pictures should look is different from yours, you will not be happy! You can allow the photographer to take over after you have formulated a plan and given them the parameters within which they are working.

One of the most important things in business is knowing how to delegate; this goes beyond just delegating to your employees, however! It also includes knowing exactly when you should delegate to those outside your business, and knowing how to do this!
